Me = sleep deprived
Jan. 24th, 2010 05:07 pmI really really should not be reading or posting to LJ. I got home at 2:30 after the movie marathon. The last 90 minutes of HBP were torture (of the nicest type, but still). It's my favourite Harry Potter film, but I was SO tired. I kept pinching myself to make sure I stayed awake, very glad of the fact that I would be able to sleep in until midday today (because afore mentioned bush walk has been cancelled)...
But no...of course not. The fates conspired against me the the phone rang at 7am to inform husband and I, that husband's grandparents are arriving to visit after lunch. Husband promptly gets up to mow the lawns, wash the car etc. because he really doesn't want to incur the wrath of said grandparents. I struggle awake, make myself an espresso and start doing laundry.
We also have had a house guest this weekend - this is the same friend which tried to commit suicide a while back when she was with us, but she is WAY better now, so we're drinking coffee and tidying up the house, breakfasting and chatting and then another friend texts and asks if he can come around, drop off some bakeware he borrowed. I reply sure. He turns up with both his kids (aged 3 and 1). Which is fine and great. I like his kids and I look after them on a regular basis. I pull out the toy box and make us all more coffee. It's now 10am.
Three hours later friend with kids finally leaves, and then house guests parents arrive to pick her up, and then, me standing there in my sweaty pyjamas that the one-year-old has smeared some type of fruit into, grandparents turn up. I haven't had a shower or gotten dressed, I have massive black circles under my eyes, I am yawning so much I am sure my jaw is about to unhinge itself and granny asks: "Did you just get out of bed?" Mleh.
Now, I would really really like to have an afternoon nap, however grandparents were here for 3 hours, and it is now 5pm. I am meant to be having dinner with one friend, and then going out to another thing at 7:30pm.
Life is great, however sometimes I wish I didn't have such a busy one.
