Never ever again...
Jan. 29th, 2010 10:05 pmOkay - learn from my experience and NEVER agree to watch all Harry Potter films in one sitting, one after the other. It was... an achievement. I managed to not fall asleep, but I think this is only because I was terrified of having glasses and a scar drawn on my face, but I did get to the point where I thought "screw it, let them draw on me, sleep is more important" but instead I kept nudging my friend Nat to keep her awake.
It was fun. But my eyes are still feeling very gritty almost a week later. I normally watch three hours of TV a week. House, Bones and Glee (helpfully spaced on Friday, Sunday and Tuesday nights). I am one of those freakish people that didn't have TV when they were a child so I find watching TV quite...boring. So managing it for 17 hours was an achievement. I then had to have Tuesday off work with the worst migraine I have experienced in about a year. But it was worth it.
It was very cool seeing the actors age in the space of a day. It made me really appreciate the fact that they had used the same actors and continue to do so. And watching the acting improving was also a massive relief! Another highlight of the day was the effort all my friends went to, to create food for the day. I will attach photos below under another cut. (Feeling very LJ savvy tonight! I even added some icons!)

On a side note, have had two trips to the vets in a week - my poor kitten (okay, two year old cat) Druss (the Legend) went in for his FIV vaccine booster and need antibiotics and eye cream... his sister, Shadow (the Hunter) of course was fine. However, I think the vet likes to make excuses to make me bring Druss back as he purrs when he's at the vet, and smooches against the vet's legs, and headbutts... also he eats his pills like they are candy. No shoving it down his throat and having to try to make him swallow pills. He happily munches away. Weird.

I am applying for a new job. I love my current job, however my team leader pointed this new job out to me, said I am wasted where I currently am, and then almost burst into tears (there are already 3 people leaving in our team and I am pretty crucial unfortunately). It's almost like a forgone conclusion that I am going to get this other job and that all I need to do is apply for it. Scary stuff. However, new job would mean at least a $5K pay rise, my own office, and actual semi-application of my postgraduate study. Am a bit worried that my own office would mean I would get even less work done - I'd be reading fanfic all day. It's hapened before!
Now, I am curious where everyone is from. So if you don't mind leaving a comment to tell me where abouts in the world you are located I would be most appreciative because I am really nosy, but also lazy (in that I don't want to go onto everyone's profiles and look it up!)
Hope everyone has a good weekend! It's a long weekend here and I am going to make the most of it! Two 30th birthday parties to go to on Saturday night.
